Certains d'entre-vous ont déjà vu passer l'information, mais le
professeur Guy Louchard, qui a créé de toute pièce la section
Informatique de l'ULB au début des années 1970, vient de décéder
brusquement vendredi dernier. Une cérémonie d'adieu aura lieu ce samedi
2/12/2023 à partir de 11h au crématorium d'Uccle.

Je joins le faire-part.

Dear Professor Devillers

 

It deeply saddens me to learn about the passing of Professor Guy Louchard on November 24, 2023. Unfortunately, I am unable to attend Professor Louchard's funeral. Could you please convey my heartfelt condolences to his family, relatives, friends, and Département d’Informatique.

 

I vividly recall the visit we made to the Département d’Informatique and met Professor Louchard with your assistance on September 16, 2019. At that time, he appeared to be in good health. Our group received a warm welcome from both Professor Louchard and Professor Jean Cardinal. Professor Cardinal provided us with a brief presentation, highlighting the department's focus areas such as Algorithmic Studies, Machine Learning, Behavioral Intelligence, Big Data Science, Bioinformatics and Computational Biology, Graphs, and Mathematical Optimization.

 

I gleaned valuable insights from Professor Louchard's comments during that visit, and I was under the impression that he was in good mental and physical condition. Time has swiftly passed – it's been more than four years now.

 

Finally, I extend my warmest wishes to you, your family, and all the staff at the Département d’Informatique.

Căn cứ theo thông báo cáo phó (fair-part) đính kèm với email thì thầy Louchard có vợ tên là Odile CHARRAN (vẫn còn sống), có 2 đứa con gái, đứa đầu tên là Cécile lấy chồng tên là Thibault de BARSY; đứa thứ hai tên là Anne lấy chồng tên là Pol FOSSET; Thầy có 4 đứa cháu ngoại là Oscar, Nolwenn, Lou và Leopold (không rõ đứa nào con của cặp nào).

Thầy sinh ngày 17/11/1936, mất đột ngột vào ngày 24/11/2023 (vừa qua ngày sinh nhật đúng 1 tuần), thọ 87 tuổi. Như vậy Thầy vô bệnh – lúc thăm Thầy vào hôm 16/09/2019 (lúc đó thầy 83 tuổi) vẫn thấy Thầy rất khỏe mạnh.

Có thể tham dự lễ Từ biệt Thầy từ xa qua Zoom (theo đường dẫn thầy Devillers cho), bắt đầu từ 17:15 ngày 2/12/2023, giờ VN.

PS. Sau khi được anh Khiêm thông báo về tin thầy mất (thông tin từ anh Phan Ngọc Lân bên Bỉ) đ/c Lợi đã viết email chia buồn (bằng tiếng Anh) gửi nhờ qua email của thầy Raymond Devillers (gửi ngày 28/11/2023). Đến hôm 30/11/2023 thì nhận được email của thầy Devillers như đã chuyển tiếp cho các anh.

Đúng rồi. Thấy anh Dũng chắp tay từ biệt Thầy theo phong cách Phương Đông. Còn nhìn thấy cả Jean Cardinal - đương kim chủ nhiệm khoa, người trình bày lúc đoàn chúng ta đến thăm Département D'informatique hồi tháng 9/2019.
